very true.....another way of realising people to avoid is to imagine they were treating your very best friend the way they habitually treat you - wouldnt you just tell your friend to ditch them?....soon sorts out the people to avoid......

I know! I have just returned to work after 10 months off yet a colleague managed to get me in tears by his attitude towards me. So bad I thought of quitting. A friend sent me this and it is now pinned up next to my desk. I now ignore any emails from him and get a supervisor to answer, therefore putting him in his place

That is so true. Maya Angelou spoke once about how dangerous it was to let people pick at you. for example "are you going out in that?"
everytime you let someone do that to you they take a little bit of you and if you aren't careful, if you take your eye off the ball before you know it you are gone because you allowed everyone to come and claim their bit of you. And when people pick at you they tend to pick you clean, no one likes to leave a mess.
